Southern Illinois (7-1) at Cal State Northridge (1-5), 4 p.m.--Northridge has struggled in almost every area and has a tough task against the Salukis, who are on the verge of entering the Top 25 poll for the first time since 1976. The Matadors made only 23 of 66 shots (34.8%) in a 74-65 loss at Nevada on Dec. 8. Guard Markus Carr leads the Matadors with 19.8 points per game, but no other player is averaging more than seven points. Junior guard Kent Williams is averaging 18.6 points for the Salukis, who have defeated St. Louis, Iowa State and Indiana, and barely lost to Illinois, 75-72.
