Tennis’ Amritraj Commits to Duke

Encino Crespi High senior Stephen Amritraj has made a commitment to attend Duke on a tennis scholarship.

A quarterfinalist in the Southern Section individual tournament last season, Amritraj chose Duke over Stanford.

Quinonez to Join Trojans

Rudy Quinonez, a senior pitcher at Santa Fe Springs St. Paul High, will sign with USC on Thursday, said Tom Fox, St. Paul’s athletic director.

The first-team All-Del Rey League selection went 6-3 last season with a 2.90 earned-run average and 72 strikeouts. His fastballs have been clocked as high as 93 mph.
