Lake Forest El Toro d. Simi Valley Royal, 15-6, 15-13, 15-10--Kim Wilson had 16 kills and teammate Heather Quinn had 11 kills and 10 blocks for El Toro (21-6) in the Southern Section Division I-A semifinal.

San Clemente d. Los Alamitos, 15-8, 15-11, 15-12--Megan Blackshire had 16 kills and Katy Daly added 15 kills for host San Clemente (31-3) in a Southern Section Division I-A semifinal.

Long Beach Wilson d. Amaheim Esperanza, 15-9, 15-12, 6-15, 15-12--Cynthia Barboza, a freshman middle blocker, had 29 kills and 11 blocks for second-seeded Wilson. Teammate Emily Hendrickson had 24 kills and four blocks for the Bruins (23-7), who will play Moore League rival Long Beach Poly in the title match.

In girls’ tennis:

Laguna Beach 15, Thousand Oaks La Reina 3--Lindsey Butterwick swept three sets and Laguna Beach’s top two doubles teams surrendered three games apiece as the Artists routed La Reina in a Southern Section Division V quarterfinal playoff match at Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks.

Top-seeded Laguna Beach (13-8), the second-place finisher from the Pacific Coast League behind defending Division IV champion Newport Beach Corona del Mar and three-time defending section champions, made quick work of the Tri-Valley League co-champion Regents (13-5) by winning all six sets in the first round of play.

Butterwick started things off with a 6-1 victory over La Reina’s No. 1 singles player, junior Stephanie Matthews, then toppled Kathryn Meister and Stephanie Carr, 6-2, 6-0, respectively.

The Artists, who have won five consecutive matches since a league loss to Corona del Mar, recorded a sweep of nine doubles sets behind their top two teams.

The No. 1 team of Danielle Schulman and Jackie Reed won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, and the No. 2 team of Jessica Murray and Rory Steinle posted similar 6-1, 6-0, 6-2 victories. The third team of Alex Murrel and Britton Simons surrendered five games, winning 6-2, 6-0, 6-3.
