BIG WINNERS

* Defensive back Craig Batiste of Gardena intercepted a pass in the end zone with four seconds left to preserve the Panthers’ 14-7 Marine League victory over San Pedro.

* Offensive lineman Mike Nelson of Wildomar Elsinore scored on a 23-yard run on a fumblerooskie play against Murrieta Valley. The touchdown provided the difference in Elsinore’s 28-21 victory.

* Long Beach Wilson running back David Beverly scored on a 14-yard run with 34 seconds left in a 34-27 victory over Long Beach Millikan. Beverly finished with 262 yards in 16 carries and scored on runs of 59, 65 and 78 yards.

* Westminster quarterback Fidel Gonzalez passed for 440 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for a touchdown in a 42-41 Golden West League victory over Tustin.

* Cerritos Valley Christian’s Chase Twedell had 251 yards in 16 carries, scored on runs of 76, 59 and 54 yards and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass in the Crusaders’ 48-6 victory over Calabasas.
