Six Hurt in Head-on Collision Involving Bus
Six people were injured, one seriously, Friday afternoon in South Los Angeles when a driver crashed his minivan head-on into a bus, police said.
He was apparently reaching for a piece of pie, they said.

DASH shuttles--A brief news item in Saturday’s California section incorrectly described a bus involved in an accident as an MTA DASH bus. DASH shuttles are operated by the city of Los Angeles, not the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The driver lost control of his vehicle as he drove northbound on Avalon Boulevard near 118th Place and plowed into an MTA Dash bus going southbound carrying about a dozen passengers about 4:30 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Officer Zach Hutchings.
The minivan driver’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening, said city fire spokesman Jim Wells. Five passengers on the bus complained of pain, Hutchings said.
