2 Killed in Car Crashes in Stanton, La Habra

Car crashes left two people dead Monday in Stanton and La Habra.
The first occurred about 5 a.m. when two cars collided on Beach Boulevard in Stanton, killing one of the drivers. The boulevard was closed for five hours between Lampson and Chapman avenues.
The second crash occurred at 2:22 p.m., when a BMW struck a truck stopped for a red light on Idaho Street in La Habra and burst into flames. A police officer and two witnesses tried in vain to save the BMW driver. The truck driver wasn’t hurt.
