Hearing on Removal of Matilija Dam
A public meeting will be held Jan. 31 to discuss issues surrounding the proposed removal of Matilija Dam north of Ojai.
The Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the Ventura County Flood Control District, is seeking public feedback prior to launching an environmental study of the project.
The study will address issues such as flood protection, sediment transport, beach nourishment and the protection of sensitive species.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Hall of Administration at the Ventura County Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
