Longtime School Board Trustee Garland Resigns
From Staff and Wire Reports
Brian Garland, 61, who was first elected to the Huntington Beach City School District board in 1975, has resigned.
The decision follows Garland’s retirement as principal at Edison High School this summer. The school is in the city’s high school district. Garland was trustee of the elementary school district.
The veteran trustee and educator thanked his supporters at his last board meeting Tuesday, saying “even good things must end ... I am leaving at the crest of the wave.”
