Anaheim Worker Is Badly Shocked
From a Times Staff Writer
A 45-year-old Anaheim city employee was in critical condition Sunday after being shocked when he accidentally touched a 69,000-volt power line, authorities said.
Greg Norwood was in a lift bucket with another employee, working on a transformer in the 900 block of Brookhurst Street when his left hand touched the power line about 9:20 a.m., Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
A nearby off-duty firefighter helped the injured worker.
Norwood was taken to the burn unit at UCI Medical Center in Orange with severe injuries to his arms, face and torso.
