La Salle Declared Track Co-Champion

Pasadena La Salle was declared Southern Section Division IV girls’ track and field co-champion with North Hills L.A. Baptist on Monday after being awarded second place in the divisional finals at Cerritos College on Saturday.

L.A. Baptist outscored La Salle, 79-74, according to the official results released Saturday. But L.A. Baptist’s Nikki Marquez had been mistakenly awarded five points for finishing in a tie for third in the shotput when she actually placed a non-scoring eighth. With the correction, each team finished with 74 points.
