Man Arrested in Shooting of Parked Cars
A Canoga Park man was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday for allegedly shooting out the windows of several parked cars with a rifle from the rooftop of Willard Elementary School in Rosemead.
Bail was set at $1 million for Tam Nguyen, 32, who was booked on suspicion of vandalism and weapons and narcotics violations.
Officers responding to a 911 call found him dressed in dark clothing with a .22-caliber rifle equipped with a silencer and a scope, Sheriff Sgt. James Crider said. No homes appear to have been hit, Crider said.
Nguyen was “coherent and articulate,” he said. The motive is not known.
