Marijuana Gardens Targeted by Robbers
Sacramento-area law enforcement officials are concerned about a string of home-invasion robberies targeting marijuana gardens, but they say the robberies aren’t unusual.
Last week, four gunmen dressed as FBI and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents forced their way into a rural Lotus home and took 20 plants, which the owner said were for medicinal purposes.
In North Highlands, five robbers barged into a mobile home last month and assaulted a man before stealing about 20 plants, sheriff’s investigators said.
Sheriff’s Det. Dan Minter said such robberies occur every year, especially in the fall.
