Dominguez (6-1) opened the season at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio, defeating Ocean View in the consolation final. The Dons reached the semifinals by defeating Gardena Serra and No. 17 Los Angeles Loyola.

Mater Dei (4-1) traveled last weekend, losing Saturday night to Peoria (Ill.) Central, 70-62, in Benton, Ky. Peoria Central was ranked No. 8 in the preseason by USA Today; Mater Dei was No. 2.

Ocean View co-Coach Jim Harris, who is six wins shy of 500 for his career, expects the game to feature a contrast of styles.

“They’re bigger, but I think we’re a little quicker,” he said. “Both teams are trying to develop their depth a little more.”
