BOYS’ BASKETBALL

* Bryce Taylor, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake: Scored 30 points for the Wolverines (2-1), No. 4 in The Times’ rankings, in a 90-63 victory over L.A. Grant in pool play of the Thousand Oaks tournament.

* Jesse Woodard, Compton Centennial: Freshman point guard had 10 points and 13 assists for the No. 5 Apaches in a 90-56 victory over L.A. Dorsey in pool play of the Beverly Hills tournament. Chris Berry and Tyre Thompson each had 20 points for Centennial (3-0).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

* Kali Bennett, Ventura: Had 18 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots in a 57-53 victory over No. 7 Newhall Hart in pool play of the Ventura Buena tournament.

* Ashley Soto, Rosemead: The tournament MVP had 17 points, six assists and five steals in a 63-47 victory over Covina Northview in the Azusa tournament title game.

* Carly Horine, La Verne Bonita: Made two free throws with 13 seconds remaining and finished with 19 points and five rebounds in a 48-45 victory over Glendora in the Claremont tournament consolation final.

BOYS’ SOCCER

* Jose Beltaton, Chino: Scored all of his team’s goals in a 4-3 nonleague victory over Chino Don Lugo. He has 11 goals in five games. Jimmy Rodriguez scored two goals in a two-minute span for Don Lugo.

* Court Hale, Irvine Woodbridge: Scored in the 20th minute for the No. 8 Warriors in a 1-0 nonleague victory over Dana Point Dana Hills.

* Gerardo Cortez, Pasadena: Had three goals and an assist in a 6-1 nonleague victory over Pasadena Blair.
