Foothill Holds Off Corona del Mar

Corona del Mar High couldn't take advantage of its opportunities Wednesday against Santa Ana Foothill and lost, 6-3, in a nonleague girls' water polo game at Corona del Mar.

Corona del Mar, ranked second in the region by The Times, was awarded 12 extra-man situations to three for the top-ranked Knights, but managed only two goals.

Corona del Mar's Jessica Harkins tied the score, 2-2, during a man-advantage situation with 2 minutes 34 seconds remaining in the first half, but the Sea Kings didn't score again until 1:59 to play.

Freshman Grace Reynolds scored two of her three goals and Brittany Hayes had one of her two goals to give the Knights a 5-2 lead at the end of the third quarter.
