Quarterback Matt Engle of El Segundo was chosen medium-schools player of the year and running back Chase Twedell of Cerritos Valley Christian was named small-schools player of the year by CalHi Sports.

Joining Engle on the medium-schools offensive team were wide receiver Jeff Gray of North Torrance and running backs Cesar Murillo of Riverside Norte Vista, Chris Vega of Phelan Serrano and Chauncey Washington of South Torrance. The medium-schools defense included Desmond Reed of Temple City, linemen Brian Fairbanks of Irvine Northwood and Ryan Granger of La Habra, linebacker Omar Alvarez of Fontana Kaiser and defensive back Devin Stearns of Gardena Serra. Specialists and multipurpose players included punter Andrew Grimes of San Marino and Marcus McCliman of Fontana Kaiser. All are seniors.

Joining Twedell on the small-schools team are running back Luis Soto of Carpinteria, offensive linemen Alani Coleman of Carpinteria and Shane Raftery of Temecula Linfield Christian, defensive lineman Kyle McClure of Westlake Village Oaks Christian, defensive back Brad Bockestein of Cerritos Valley Christian, kicker Sergio Aguayo of San Jacinto, and multipurpose players Ryan Black of Pasadena Poly, Rudy Burgess of Edwards AFB Desert, Aaron Gonzales of Carpinteria, T.J. Fakehinde of Fullerton Eastside Christian, Adam Richter of Westlake Village Oaks Christian and Denny Warden of Huntington Beach Brethren Christian. All are seniors except Warden, who is a junior.

The all-state underclass team included wide receivers Ryan Graves of Pasadena Muir and Derrick Jones of Long Beach Poly, quarterback Sean Norton of Newhall Hart, running back Terrell Jackson of Corona Centennial, offensive linemen Jacob Hucko of Cerritos, Brandon Nicolas of Santa Ana Mater Dei, Norris Malele of Carson and Chilo Rachal of Compton Dominguez, defensive linemen Brigham Harwell of Hacienda Heights Los Altos, Thomas Herring of L.A. Fremont, Jimmy Miller of Westlake Village Westlake and Shannon Tevaga of La Mirada, linebackers Jed Collins of Mission Viejo and Marlin Simmons of Long Beach Poly, defensive backs Randy Estes of Los Alamitos and Ryan Payton of Covina South Hills, punter Aaron Perez of West Covina Charter Oak and multipurpose players Michael Bumpus of Culver City and Damon Morton of Riverside North. All are juniors.

The all-state sophomore team included quarterbacks Michael Coleman of San Bernardino Arroyo Valley and Jason Forcier of Mater Dei, running backs Rylon Thomas of Valencia and Aaron Ware of Oaks Christian, wide receiver Jeremy Childs of Los Alamitos, offensive lineman Rolando Barragan of Inglewood Morningside, defensive linemen Bernard Afutiti of Fontana Kaiser and Mataele Pauu of Mira Costa, linebacker Prince Hall of Moreno Valley, defensive back Xavier Hicks of Fullerton and multipurpose players Cary Harris of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Ryan Wolfe of Hart.
