He’s Expected to Dust Field
Miami Moon Dust, who has won four of his last six races, will be favored to win the $10,000 Donner Summit Stakes tonight.
Owned by Bob Grimes and trainer Paul Jones, the 4-year-old Texas Hero gelding, who won only one of his first 13 races, has been on a roll all year.
In his last race, he won the Grass Valley by three-quarters of a length May 10. He will break from the outside in the field of six this evening in the 400-yard contest.
The Donner Summit also includes the second- and third-place finishers in the Grass Valley -- A Rare Gem and Floater. A Rare Gem is trained by Vince Smith, who also will send out Riggsmarolle, an upset winner at nearly 15-1 in his most recent outing June 5.
Completing the lineup are Mayflower Ann and Kates Flyer.
