FEATS OF THE WEEK

* Fourth-seeded Oxnard defeated Lynwood, 73-66, in a Southern Section Division I-AA quarterfinal to tie a school record with its 26th victory. The Yellowjackets, who will play top-seeded Rialto Eisenhower in their first semifinal appearance since 1965, also won 26 games in 1952.

* Mike Hornbuckle made six three-point baskets and scored 39 points to lead Westlake Village Oaks Christian to a 78-70 victory over Santa Maria St. Joseph in a Division IV-AA quarterfinal.

FANTASTIC FINISH

* Dorell Wright scored the winning layup with 16 seconds left and Lawndale Leuzinger defeated Long Beach Poly, 65-63, in a Division I-AA second-round game that marked the end of retiring Poly Coach Ron Palmer’s career.

LOOKING AHEAD

* They play different positions but are indispensable to their respective teams. Forward Evan Moore of Brea Olinda and guard Dejon Prejean of Lakewood Mayfair have guided their teams to the Division II-A semifinals, where they will meet Tuesday at La Habra Sonora High.

Moore scored 32 points and had eight rebounds in Brea’s 68-40 quarterfinal victory over Santa Barbara San Marcos.

Prejean had a game-high 21 points in Mayfair’s 77-51 thumping of Burbank Burroughs.
