* Alyson Jennings, Newport Harbor: Had 14 kills and 21 assists to lead Sailors (20-5), ranked No. 5 by The Times, to a 17-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 nonleague victory over cross-town rival Corona del Mar.

* Bridgette Redmond, Newhall Hart: Had 11 kills and three aces in a 25-11, 25-19, 25-15 Foothill League victory over Burbank.


* Michelle Murphy, Santa Ana Mater Dei: In a battle of freshmen, she defeated Molly Scott of Santa Margarita, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, to win the Serra League singles title at Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club in Fountain Valley. Cassidy Grandstaff and Elizabeth Van't Hof won the doubles title for Mater Dei, ranked No. 8 by The Times.

* Christine Ricohermoso, Anaheim Katella: Defeated teammate Tracy Le, 6-0, 6-1, to win the Empire League singles title, then teamed with Le to win the doubles title.

Mater Dei's Carolina Velasco and Andrea Zakmucen defeated Grandstaff and Van't Hof to win the doubles title.
