Severed Gas Line Keeps Residents Indoors
From Times Staff Reports
HUNTINGTON BEACH
A landscaper snapped a gas line Thursday, prompting officials to tell nearby residents to stay inside and keep their windows closed.
Hazardous-materials crews and firefighters were called at 3:40 p.m. to a neighborhood near Gothard Street and Promenade Parkway, said Huntington Beach Fire Battalion Chief Rich Grunbaum.
No one was injured, but officials warned residents to stay inside until the leak in the 3-inch line was fixed.
As of Thursday evening, workers were still making the repair.
