A wildfire that burned more than 150 acres on the Pala Indian Reservation in northern San Diego County was moving slowly through heavy brush Thursday night, but no homes or other structures were threatened, fire officials said.

Audrey Hagen, a spokeswoman for the San Diego division of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said the fire was about 5% contained at nightfall, but said there was no projection on when full control was expected.

About 350 firefighters would be on the lines through the night, she said.

Although the blaze was burning away from structures, officials said they issued voluntary evacuation advisories for about 35 homes.

The cause of the wildfire remained under investigation, Hagen said.

Pala Temecula Road was closed from south of California 76, officials said.

The road would be reopened when the fire was sufficiently under control, a San Diego Sheriff’s Department official said.

A smaller fire erupted area along Carbon Canyon Road in Chino Hills Thursday afternoon, San Bernardino County fire officials said.

The fire burned for nearly an hour across about five acres before firefighters surrounded it, fire spokesman Tom Barnes said.
