Drain Pipe Falls on Worker, Killing Him

A worker unloading a flatbed truck was killed Thursday when a 20-foot-long, 48-inch-wide storm-drain pipe shifted and fell on him, officials said.
Juan Carlos Reyes-Flores, 36, of Bakersfield was pronounced dead at the scene following the 7:45 a.m. accident at a construction site in the 7000 block of Edinger Avenue.
The county coroner’s office and representatives of the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health are investigating.
