Assumption, ranked No. 1 in the nation by Prepvolleyball.com, in pool play of the Mother McAuley/Nike Challenge in Chicago.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

* Ben Sonne, Huntington Beach Edison: Scored eight goals and drew a school-record seven ejections in a 14-10 victory over Bellevue (Wash.) and had five goals in a 15-5 win over Orange El Modena in pool play of the Villa Park tournament.
