Oscar producer: Laura Ziskin, who produced the 2002 Oscars, will take the reins again for the 79th annual Academy Awards on Feb. 25, 2007, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences said Friday.

Oscar winner: Tatum O’Neal, an Oscar winner for 1973’s “Paper Moon,” will star in “Art of Betrayal,” one of the serial dramas that will be the calling card of the new My Network TV this fall (to be seen locally on KCOP-TV Channel 13).

Choreographer: David Allan, a former soloist with the National Ballet of Canada, will choreograph Ballet Pacifica’s new “Nutcracker,” which is scheduled to be performed Dec. 9-24 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. The sets and costumes will come from Indianapolis-based Ballet Internationale, which shut down its operations in November 2005.

Cultural affairs: Public affairs and management consultant Karen Constine has been appointed interim general manager of the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. She will replace Margie Reese, who resigned to take a position coordinating arts and cultural-grant making in West Africa for the Ford Foundation.
