DIVISION I

Long Beach Poly (30-2) vs. Berkeley (30-3) at Arco Arena (Sacramento), 6 p.m., Saturday -- These teams have played for the last two championships, both won by Poly, 58-52 last season and 54-34 in 2006. Berkeley moved easily from the Gene Nakamura era to new Coach Cheryl Draper, who has several players -- Jazmine Perkins and transfers Airika Warren and Camila Rosen -- capable of scoring 20 points or more. The Yellowjackets have the versatility to go with a big lineup but will face a swarming, suffocating Poly defense led by player-of-the-year front-runner Jasmine Dixon, along with Monique Oliver and April Cook. Poly’s fortunes could hinge on making a couple of three-point shots early, probably from Kelli Thompson, who has been in a slump.

DIVISION II

Manhattan Beach Mira Costa (28-6) vs. San Jose Archbishop Mitty (21-11) at Arco Arena, 5:30 p.m., Friday -- Mira Costa’s triple-overtime victory over Chino Hills Ayala in the regional final was the Mustangs’ third straight overtime victory in the state tournament, all since losing starting point guard Amanda Johnson in the Southern Section quarterfinals. Mikah Maly-Karros and Megan Richardson average 18.1 and 17.6 points, respectively. Defending state champion Mitty, going for its fourth title, is paced by inside presence Stephanie Ricketts and three-point threat Ariel Castillo.

DIVISION III

Anaheim Magnolia (27-6) vs. San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral (32-0) at Arco Arena, 1 p.m., Saturday -- Jhakia McDonald and Pernilla Hanson lead Magnolia, whose trademark defense hasn’t given up more than 39 points in the state playoffs after the team received an at-large bid. Sacred Heart is No. 1 in the nation, according to Rivals.com, and just beat No. 3 Stockton St. Mary’s, 46-45, in what is believed to be the first meeting in state history between undefeated teams with at least 30 victories. The Fightin’ Irish have won 55 in a row and are led by Jazmine Jackson and Tierra Rogers, who scored 29 in a 74-58 victory over Long Beach Poly on Dec. 8.

DIVISION IV

La Jolla Country Day (26-5) vs. Vallejo St. Patrick/St. Vincent (29-5) at Arco Arena, 3:30 p.m., Friday -- Janae Fulcher, a 6-3 forward, hopes to bring Country Day its first state title in Division IV. It won Division V in 2001 and ’02 but was runner-up in Division IV in 2003 and ’04. The Torreys beat defending state champion Los Angeles Marlborough, 69-53, Saturday. Four starters return from last season for St. Patrick/St. Vincent, including Loyola Marymount-bound forward Alex Cowling.

DIVISION V

San Luis Obispo Mission Prep (27-4) vs. Ross Branson (28-7) at Arco Arena, 9:30 a.m., Saturday -- Leigh Yetter has averaged 14.8 points for Mission Prep, which is a perpetual bridesmaid in these games, having lost five times in the state final. The Royals will try to knock off a team that is one for one in the big game. Branson won last year and will go for a repeat behind senior Rachael Bilney (17.3 points).
