King-Drew faces Crenshaw in Coliseum League softball showdown

Los Angeles Crenshaw (11-8, 10-1) vs. Los Angeles King-Drew (19-2, 11-0) at Del Amo Park in Carson.

Why it matters: The top teams in the Coliseum League face off for the second time this season, vying for home-field advantage in the City Section playoffs. Last month, King-Drew defeated Crenshaw, 11-10. Crenshaw is the defending league champion. The game will feature some of the most productive home-run hitters in the country. King-Drew’s Shannon Colquitt has hit a nation-leading 26 home runs, a state single-season record. Teammate Nicolette Anderson has 13 home runs. Crenshaw’s Alia Williams has 15 home runs after hitting a state-record 19 last season.
