BCS rankings: Jerry Crowe’s column in Thursday’s Sports section said Auburn finished second in the final BCS college football standings in 2004. Auburn was third in the final BCS standings, which were computed at the end of the regular season, but finished second in the Associated Press poll released after all bowl games were played. —


While the Dodgers played all of their interleague games against teams with records of .500 or better, the Angels, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox among them, the Padres played the bulk of theirs against the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles.…
