Friday, at Rabobank Arena, Bakersfield

BOYS

Division IV

Los Angeles Price (32-3) vs. Albany St. Mary’s (26-9), 1:30 p.m. — Price is making its first appearance in a state title game since 2005, when it concluded a stretch in which it won five championships in six years. The Knights have never won a title in this division, however; all of their championships came in Division V. Price is led by senior guard Allen Crabbe, the Gatorade state player of the year who averages 23 points a game and is headed to California. St. Mary’s top player is Utah-bound forward Dominique Lee.

Other game: Division II, San Diego Lincoln (28-2) vs. Mountain View St. Francis (30-3), 8 p.m.

GIRLS

Division IV

North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (33-1) vs. Albany St. Mary’s (31-3), 3:30 p.m. — Harvard-Westlake is making its first state championship appearance since 1999, with a smart, experienced group that has a lot of scoring power in senior forward Nicole Hung and senior guard Nicole Nesbit. St. Mary’s wins by throwing teams off kilter with intense pressure on defense.

Division II

Santa Ana Mater Dei (31-1) vs. Concord Carondelet (27-5), 6 p.m. — Carondelet has the height advantage, and Jessica Duarte, Mater Dei’s 5-foot-11 post, will have to deal with that. But Mater Dei has All-Americans in junior guard Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and sophomore point guard Jordan Adams. Carondelet has exceeded expectations even after senior guard Ricki Radanovich was lost to an injury at the beginning of the month. Senior center Erin Boettcher and junior forward Erica Payne have stepped up their games.
