Marijuana dispensaries: In the Sept. 21 LATExtra section, the headline on an article about a study of crime near marijuana dispensaries said that less crime was found near L.A. dispensaries. In fact, the study found that after hundreds of dispensaries were required to close last summer, crime increased nearby.

Grocery labor talks: A photo caption with an article in the Sept. 20 Section A about an agreement averting a strike by workers at Southern California’s three big grocery chains identified the man shown as UFCW Local 770 field director Willie Rodriguez. In fact, the man was contract employee Ramiro Vaca.

UC regents: An article in the Sept. 16 LATExtra section about a University of California regents meeting said that Eddie Island was the only board member to vote against incentive awards and pay raises for eight UC financial and medical center executives. Student regent Alfredo Mireles Jr. also voted no.

Charlie Sheen: A Sept. 20 Calendar section article about “Two and a Half Men” said that the show’s former star, Charlie Sheen, earned $1.8 million a week. An article in the Business section the same day about negotiations to settle the feud between Sheen and Warner Bros. said the actor was making $1.2 million per episode. That was Sheen’s base salary. The $1.8 million figure takes into account the additional money he could be expected to be paid in profit from the sale of reruns.

Artist management: An article in the Sept. 20 Business section about a joint venture between Universal Music Group and Live Nation Entertainment to manage musicians said that Universal’s Twenty-First Artist manages Elton John and Lily Allen. Both left Twenty-First Artist last year to sign with Rocket Music Entertainment Group.

Laura Marling: An article about British folk musician Laura Marling in the Sept. 20 Calendar section said that she recently received her second Mercury Prize nomination but lost to PJ Harvey. In fact, Marling was not nominated in 2011, the year that Harvey won for “Let England Shake.” Marling was nominated in 2008 and 2010.
