Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Big Bear City

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday morning three miles from Big Bear City, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:17 a.m. PST at a depth of 0.6 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 19 miles from Lake Arrowhead, 22 miles from Apple Valley and 22 miles from Yucaipa.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
