Police seek suspects in an ambush shooting that killed two in Riverside
Two people were killed and another wounded Friday when two gunmen opened fire on the trio as they walked along a Riverside street, authorities said.
Police received a flurry of calls just after 9:30 p.m. reporting a shooting near the corner of 7th Street and Kansas Avenue, Riverside police Sgt. Bill McCoy said.
Officers found three victims on the ground each suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were transported to Riverside Community Hospital, where one died and the third was in stable condition.
The victims’ names were not released.
Police said a vehicle pulled up and parked near where the trio were walking and that two suspects emerged and started shooting.
No arrests have been made and no motive has been identified.
