Three victims of weekend violence were identified Sunday by the L.A. County Coroner.

Latorria Westbrook, 26, of Gardena, died of a gunshot wound to the head.

In a separate incident, Alfred Lopez, 32, and Juan Carlos Martinez, 18, both of Los Angeles, died in an apparent car-to-car shooting.

Westbrook had been walking with a male companion in a South Los Angeles neighborhood late Friday night when several suspects opened fire on the couple, authorities said.

It is unclear if the suspects knew the woman or her companion when they drove up in the 500 block of West 95th Street at about 11:35 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Sara Faden.

Westbrook was struck once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting that claimed Lopez and Martinez occurred about 3:35 a.m. Saturday morning near the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Future Street, police said, when two men in one vehicle drove up.

The victims were able to drive a short distance until their car crashed at the intersection of Eagle Rock Boulevard and Verdugo Road. A third person in the car sustained minor injuries.

The names of the victims were released by Lt. Joe Bale of the coroner’s office.

But until relatives could be notified, Bale could not provide the name of a pedestrian who died in a chain-reaction car crash involving a suspected drunk driver. That crash occurred on La Cienega Boulevard at Cashio Street just before midnight Saturday.

Earlier, police announced the victim of a Saturday evening hit-and-run crash in Hyde Park was Markeis Vonreece Parish, 18, of Los Angeles. Friends and family gathered at the crash scene Sunday to mourn the popular Inglewood High School student and athlete.

The unidentified suspect’s vehicle, a silver Mercedes-Benz, was found abandoned in Inglewood.
