Body of woman found floating in Echo Park Lake

A woman’s body was discovered floating in Echo Park Lake on Saturday morning, officials said.
Authorities were called to the 700 block of Echo Park Avenue about 7:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters pulled the woman out of the water and pronounced her dead at the scene, officials said.
The victim’s name was not released. Authorities estimated she was 60 years old.
Los Angeles police said said there was no evidence of foul play and the death appeared to have been accidental.
The case has been turned over to the L.A. County coroner’s office for investigation.
