Boys’ basketball: Matt Hauser scores 41 points in Thousand Oaks victory

Junior guard Matt Hauser scored 41 points to help Thousand Oaks (8-1) win the Arroyo Grande tournament championship on Saturday night with a 74-69 win over Mission Prep.

Loyola won the Beverly Hills tournament championship with a 63-33 win over Gardena Serra. Thomas Welsh was named tournament MVP after contributing 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Tra Holder scored 25 points in Brentwood’s 53-45 win over Leuzinger. Chris Sandifer scored 33 points and Damian Wilson 18 in Taft’s 89-78 win over Venice. Cantwell-Sacred Heart is 7-1 after a 67-55 win over Beverly Hills. EJ Mejia scored 22 points and made seven three-pointers. Joey Covarrubias had 20 points.

In Arizona, Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Houston Yates, 100-57. MJ Cage had 23 points and 17 rebounds. Stanley Johnson and La’Vette Parker added 21 points apiece.

Justin Bibbins scored 32 points and had 10 assists and 10 steals in Bishop Montgomery’s 104-36 win over Nevada Legacy.

In championship game of the University tournament, Windward defeated Harvard-Westlake, 54-48. Roy Hemsley was named tournament MVP after scoring 23 points. Price defeated University, 73-52, for third place. Dorsey defeated Bell-Jeff, 73-71, for fifth place. St. Bernard defeated Roybal, 54-34.

Damien won the Glendora championship with a 77-44 win over Burbank. MVP Jeremy Hemsley finished with 26 points.

Sierra Canyon won the Ventura County Classic with a 66-53 win over Alemany. Codey Riley had 16 points and Devearl Ramsey 15. Ramsey was the MVP.

Oaks Christian defeated Westlake, 59-56. Austin Moye had 18 points. In the consolation final, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Royal, 81-74. Eliijah Ellen scored 21 points, Luca Ferrari 17 and Grant Kraemer 17. Valencia defeated Calabasas, 78-76, in overtime. Jeremy Lieberman and Justin Bessard had 19 points apiece.

West Hills Chaminade won the Arizona Catholic tournament, defeating Regis Jesuit, 52-51. Tournament MVP Jack Williams had 13 points and Trevor Stanback 12.

El Camino Real won its two-day tournament with a 52-44 win over Fairfax. Kelton Conway scored 15 points and Evan Wardlow 11. Poly defeated Reseda, 59-42. Cesar Reyes scored 22 points.
