Boys’ basketball: Chris Martin’s 26 points ignites Price

Senior point guard Christ Martin of Los Angeles Price is usually the smallest player on the court at 5 feet 8, but that hardly deters him. He scored 26 points on Wednesday night to lead Price (17-7) past Renaissance Academy, 79-76, in double overtime.

In the Trinity League, unbeaten Santa Ana Mater Dei fought back a challenge from Santa Margarita and prevailed, 59-52. Stanley Johnson had 21 points, MJ Cage contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds and Rex Pflueger added 12 points. St. John Bosco defeated Servite, 63-45. Daniel Hamilton and Tyler Dorsey each had 20 points. JSerra defeated Orange Lutheran, 76-54. Blake McBride had 21 points.

In the Moore League, Long Beach Poly defeated Millikan, 73-70. K.J. Feagin had 22 points.

In the Mission League, Loyola set up a Friday showdown with Chaminade by defeating Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 65-47. Thomas Welsh finished with 17 points and Parker Jackson-Cartwright had 12. Tyler Umans led Notre Dame with 13.

Crespi defeated Harvard-Westlake, 69-52. D.J. Ursery scored 27 points and had 16 rebounds. Alemany held off St. Francis, 78-76. Brandon Boyd led the Warriors with 25 points. Shacquille Dawkins added 21 points.

In the Camino Real League, Cantwell-Sacred Heart (17-5) defeated St. Monica, 70-30. Andrew Martinez scored 20 points.

In the Tri-Valley League, Oaks Christian (17-4, 5-0) continued to surge with a 78-54 win over Oak Park. Austen Moye had 14 points and Jordan Flannery had 10 points.

In the Marmonte League, Calabasas set up a Friday showdown with Westlake by beating Simi Valley, 68-42. Larry Bush had 16 points and Jeremy Lieberman 15. Westlake (17-6, 9-0) defeated Newbury Park, 64-43. Isaiah Brooks scored 16 points and Marcos Soto had 15.

In the Pioneer League, Lawndale defeated Torrance, 72-58. Brodericks Jones had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Chimezie Metu added 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

In the Ocean League, Jonah Mathews scored 24 points in Santa Monica’s 61-45 win over Hawthorne. Beverly Hills defeated Culver City, 60-56.
