Baseball: Catcher Robert Reeves of Hart has 12 consecutive hits

There’s no hotter hitter in Southern California baseball than Hart senior catcher Robert Reeves.

He has 12 consecutive hits. He went three for three on Tuesday in a 5-2 win over Newbury Park. He was five for five last week against Crespi and four for four against Thousand Oaks.

“He’s staying on his backside and drilling the ball,” Hart Coach Jim Ozella said.

JSerra 4, Tustin 0: Three JSerra pitchers combined on the shutout. Collin Quinn didn’t allow a hit in three innings. Chase Strumpf had two RBIs and Royce Lewis and Davis Wendzel had two hits apiece.

Cypress 8, Woodbridge 3: Dominic Fletcher had two hits and Aaron Lizarraga had two RBIs to lead Cypress.

Redondo 4, California 0: Conner Riley threw a no-hitter, striking out six, and Danny Zimmerman hit two home runs for Redondo.

Orange Lutheran 1, Esperanza 0: Chris Burica struck out five, walked one and threw a three-hitter to lead the Lancers (3-1).

Jasiah Dixon had the only RBI of the game in the third inning. Orange Lutheran is 3-1.

Beckman 9, Whittier 3: Connor Fidone had three RBIs for unbeaten Beckman.

Royal 3, Bellflower 2: Andrew Nardi picked up the win for the Highlanders (3-0), strking out nine. He had a no-hitter going into the seventh. Tanner Faitro had a diving catch to halt a Bellflower rally in the seventh and had a two-run double.

El Toro 6, San Clemente 1: Austin Green struck out three in relief and Josh Zamora had two hits for El Toro.

Vista Murrieta 4, Long Beach Wilson 2: Brandon Ross threw four shutout innings for the Broncos.

Santa Margarita 6, Downey 0: Kyle Bushhousen and Konnor Kwok combined for the shutout.

Aliso Niguel 3, Servite 1: Zak Nocon and Stephen Greer pitched Aliso Niguel to the victory and handed the Friars their first defeat.

Palm Desert 3, Damien 2: Palm Desert handed the Spartans their first defeat.

Mira Costa 6, Mayfair 0: Freshman Merrick Baldo threw a three-hitter, striking out six and walking none. Matt Beserra went two for two with two RBIs.

Lakewood 19, Bishop Amat 6: Christian Valdez had three hits to lead Lakewood.

Village Christian 8, Rio Mesa 0: Colin McGeary threw the shutout and Gordon Ingebritson had two doubles.

Anaheim Canyon 9, Long Beach Poly 3: The Comanches picked up the win.
