Baseball: Pitchers coming through for 7-1 Santa Monica
Santa Monica is off to a 7-1 start, and Coach Kurt Schwengel gives lots of credit to a 13-man pitching staff that has a combined ERA of 1.12. The Vikings’ only loss was to San Fernando, 5-0.
The ace of the staff is Cal Poly-bound Alex Gironda, who has an 88 mph fastball.
Among the pitchers are three valedictorian candidates in Jonathan Raculjic, Kyle Mcreight and John Guzman.
