Boys’ basketball: Lots of intrigue as West Valley League play begins

Share

The West Valley League in basketball has been pretty easy to figure out in recent years. El Camino Real or Taft battle it out for the title, and neither team loses to anyone else.

But this season, Birmingham could get into the mix. And Taft hasn’t been as dominant as expected since the return of Coach Derrick Taylor.

Taft, though, remains the team to beat, and there should be lots of good matcups starting with Wednesday’s game between Birmingham and visiting Cleveland. Birmingham is 10-4. Cleveland is 16-5.
