Boys’ basketball: Matt Hauser lifts Thousand Oaks to win over Westlake

Santa Clara-bound Matt Hauser scored 28 points, including the game-winning basket, to lift Thousand Oaks past Westlake, 68-67, in a semifinal game of the Ventura County Classic on Friday night.
The Lancers will face Viewpoint in Saturday’s 8 p.m. final at Royal. Viewpoint defeated Canyon, 56-55, with Christian Juzang scoring 20 points. Isaiah Brooks led Westlake with 23 points.
In consolation games, Riley Battin scored 27 points in Oak Park’s 81-47 win over Oxnard. Calabasas defeated Ventura, 64-48. Justin Bessard had 27 points. Dakota Abbott scored 29 points in Valencia’s 82-53 win over Sylmar.
In the University tournament, Dorsey will play Windward on Saturday in the 4:45 p.m. final. Dorsey defeated Harvard-Westlake, 89-78. Wolfgang Novogratz had 28 points and Alex Copeland 24 for Harvard-Westlake. Windward received 14 points from Jalen Harris in a 67-53 win over University. Cushan Allen scored 20 points for University.
Price knocked off Inglewood, 74-64, behind James Washington and Roderick Williams.
San Diego Cathedral defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 53-50. Gabe Rishwain scored 14 points.
Fullerton defeated Anaheim Servite, 49-48. Sonora defeated Woodbridge, 62-50.
In a battle of top 25 teams, Redondo rallied for a 72-67 win over host Village Christian. Leland Green scored 25 points and Billy Preston 20. Bennie Boatwright led Village Christian with 18 points.
Anaheim Canyon defeated Los Alamitos, 68-59. Jake Emeterio scored 20 points, including six three-pointers.
Gardena Serrra defeated North Torrance, 107-90. Ian Carter scored 25 points and Caleb Wilson 21.
