Boys’ basketball: Narbonne is emerging as one of the best in City Section

When the City Section Division I playoff pairings are announced on Feb. 15, expect Narbonne to be in the top four seeds. The Gauchos are 15-7 overall and 6-0 in the Marine League after a 62-47 win over Washington on Wednesday.

Ucheena Okeneme scored 26 points.

In the Coliseum League, View Park stayed unbeaten with a 113-47 win over Locke. Chance Comanche had 25 points and 20 rebounds. Darryl McMillon scored 16 points and Trammel Wilson 13. Fremont defeated Crenshaw, 67-56. Sophomore Marquis McKinzy scored 25 points and was seven of 10 from three-point range.

In the Western League, Fairfax defeated Univesity, 72-44. Lindsey Drew had 13 points and Sage Woodruff 10. C.J. Sinada led University with 22 points. Westchester defeated LACES, 81-39. Elijah Stewart had 20 points and Myles Stewart 18.

In the Valley Mission League, Sylmar is 15-10 and 7-0 after an 88-55 win over San Fernando. Devenir Duruisseau scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds.

In the East Valley League, Verdugo Hills defeated Monroe, 64-51. Adrian Gutierrez, Erick Esparza and Carter Otte each had 12 points. Grant defeated Arleta, 75-49. Sherman Cromartie had 17 points.

In the West Valley League, Granada Hills defeated Taft, 59-36. Jason Horosny had 22 points and Jacob Lilley 16. Chris Sandifer of Taft was pulled from the game early on by his coach. El Camino Real defeated Cleveland, 81-38.
