Boys’ basketball: Timing led to Michael Lynch’s departure at Price
There was surprise recently when Michael Lynch announced that he was leaving Price to become the basketball coach at Pasadena La Salle.
Lynch spent 19 years at Price, winning 511 games. Why would he leave?
“There was a lot of indecisiveness going on about the status of the school,” Lynch said Tuesday. “Nothing was clear.”
It caused him to look into the La Salle job and decide it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
“La Salle is interested in building a program,” he said.
Regarding Price’s basketball team, a spokeswoman said the school is “exploring all options.”
