Boys’ basketball: Top 10 teams begin action next week

Several of the Times’ top 10 basketball teams began action this week, but most teams start their season next week.
Top-ranked Corona Centennial is hosting a tournament on Wednesday that will also feature No. 6 Etiwanda.
No. 3 Santa Ana Mater Dei plays its first game without the graduated Stanley Johnson on Dec. 6 at Dos Pueblos.
No. 4 Bishop Montgomery begins action on Monday in the Westchester tournament.
No. 7 Chino Hills and No. 8 Alemany will be playing next week in the Maranatha tournament.
No. 10 Cathedral travels on Dec. 6 to play at San Diego Morse in the debut of Kobe Paras.
On Saturday, there could be a meeting between No. 5 Redondo and No. 9 Long Beach Poly in the championship game of the Redondo tournament.
