Cross country: State championships set for Saturday in Fresno

The top cross country runners in California will be in Fresno on Saturday morning to compete in the CIF state championships at Woodward Park.
Burbank Burroughs and Great Oak are favored to win team titles in Division I boys and girls, respectively.
The City Section has high hopes for Marissa Williams of Palisades to win the Division I girls’ race. She’s coming off a record-setting performance in winning the City Division I girls’ individual title last week at Pierce College.
