Football: City Section adopts new procedure for exchanging video in playoffs

Share

In the era of exchanging video with the click of a computer, the City Section is changing its procedures for the football playoffs.

Coaches used to be required to show up at the seeding meeting and exchange video by a certain time.

City Section Commissioner John Aguirre said with 75% of coaches using either Hudl or Krossover, they will no longer have to show up at the end of the meeting on Nov. 7.

The new requirement is making contact with the opposing coach by 2 p.m. via phone or email to set up the exchange. If anyone has trouble making contact, they must call Aguirre to let him know.

Aguirre said coaches were complaining last year about having to show up when all they needed to do was give an access number to gain access on the web.

Schools still can be removed from the playoffs if contact isn’t made by the required time.
