Football: Good quarterbacks are plentiful in the Trinity, Mission leagues

Share

If there were a quarerback challenge matching the Trinity League against the Mission League, it would be quite a spectacle. Both leagues are loaded with capable, productive quarterbacks.

The Trinity has Chase Forrest of Mater Dei, Travis Waller of Servite, Nick Robinson of JSerra, Josh Rosen of St. John Bosco and K.J. Costello of Santa Margarita, all college prospects. Plus unsung Luke Langdon of Orange Lutheran is 13 of 18 for 208 yards and two touchdowns in his first two games.

The Mission has Miami-bound Brad Kaaya of Chaminade and Boise State-bound Jalen Greene of Gardena Serra. Left-handed sophomore Marshal Cohen of Harvard-Westlake (see above video) has been the talk of the league after two terrific performances running and passing. Junior MC Poe of L.A. Cathedral is starting to be unleashed, and Ty Gangi of St. Francis was 14 of 20 for 220 yards and three touchdowns in his debut.

It’s going to be an intriguing season watching the quarterbacks from these two leagues show off their running and passing skills.
