Football: JSerra sends message with 30-0 win over St. John Bosco in freshman game

JSerra has never made the Pac-5 Division football playoffs, but a 30-0 victory over St. John Bosco on Thursday in a freshman football game sends a powerful message that the Lions are making more than a little progress in building up their football program.
St. John Bosco came in with a 6-0 record and was coming off a win over previously unbeaten Mater Dei.
But the Lions are now 7-0 and looking like the Trinity League freshman title favorites. Quarterback Matt Robinson, the brother of varsity starter Nick Robinson, passed for a touchdown and ran for another. The defense, led by 6-foot-3, 280-pound freshman Jake Parks and linebackers TJ Medina, Chris Castillo and Jack Shippy, shut down a usually effective Braves offense.
