Football: League championships for Newbury Park, Simi Valley
The break up of the Marmonte League helped Newbury Park and Simi Valley capture league championships on Friday.
Newbury Park won the Camino League title with a 55-35 win over Thousand Oaks.
Simi Valley won its first league title since 1985 with a 44-19 win over Calabasas. It won the Canyon League title. Quarterback Davis Pinkston passed for 213 yards.
