Football: Norco places trust in QB Victor Viramontes
- Share via
Corona Centennial is the best in the Inland Empire, if not Southern California, but Norco is looking forward to giving the Huskies some competition, and the Cougars have one of the best quarterbacks on the West Coast in Victor Viramontes.
“Victor is the ultimate leader. When it comes to competition, he leads by example,” Coach Chuck Chastain said.
Bound for Michigan, Viramontes is a passer and runner. He’s also going to play some defense this season.
Norco was impressive in summer seven on seven passing competitions with its skill-position players. Gaven Hughes is back at running back and Oregon-bound Troy Dye is a top safety. Jordan Bogardus is a much improved receiver.
Norco should receive good tests in nonleague games from Rancho Cucamonga and Mission Viejo. Then there’s that little game on Nov. 5 at Centennial to end the regular season.
Viramontes will be ready. Count on it.
