Chaminade, Sierra Canyon show off skills

Most high school football teams in Southern California don’t start official practice unti Aug. 1, but Sierra Canyon is set to begin practice on Monday and put on the pads a couple days later because it has an opening game scheduled for Aug. 19 in Utah.

On Wednesday night, Sierra Canyon competed in a passing competition with Chaminade, Burroughs and Saugus at Burroughs.

It’s clear that the passing combination of quarterback Niko Harris and receiver Dylan Tait should be a good one this fall.

Chaminade is still putting together the pieces that should make the Eagles a Mission League title contender. New quarterback Brevin White continues to learn the offense. Standout receiver Michael Wilson, only a junior and also a basketball player, will be a top player.
