Football: Sierra Canyon, Viewpoint, Brentwood prepare for showdowns

The Gold Coast League is home to three of the top teams in the Mid-Valley Division, with Sierra Canyon (6-0) No. 1, Viewpoint (6-0) No. 6 and Brentwood (5-1) No. 9. The teams are set to face off over the next three weeks.

First up is Friday’s game between Brentwood and Viewpoint.

Then it’s Brentwood vs. Sierra Canyon next Friday.

Then it’s Sierra Canyon vs. Viewpoint on Halloween night.

It’s going to be a battle of productive quarterbacks.

Brentwood senior Eli Stern has passed for 1,365 yards and 12 touchdowns while also rushing for eight touchdowns and averaging 10.1 yards a carry.

Viewpoint junior Zach Chulak has 14 touchdown passes.

Sierra Canyon sophomore Niko Harris has passed for 1,154 yards and eight touchdowns, but he has been lost for the season with a knee injury. Junior Kohl Hollinquest took over last week and was 16 of 21 for 238 yards and three touchdowns against Nordhoff.
